Significance of the Offering

In Hindu customs, the banana plant holds great sanctity and is frequently linked to Lord Vishnu and fertility. During Chhath, single bananas are not picked; instead, a whole, unbroken bunch is presented. This represents family unity, abundance, and unbroken lineage.
